"I only eat roast beef" is a quote from A. Loos' Ornament & Crime. It tends to bring functionalism and purist critique in the realm of food. While the statement criticizes the endless variety of products offered, it does not analyze the character of the single food, that can indeed assume an unexpected level of protagonism.
This project was commissioned for SOILED magazine no. 3 Platescrapers.
Platescrapers navigates itinerant fare, comestible politics, and gastro-ritual to purvey stories about social issues and exaggerated realities; each story illustrates food as a monument to galvanize the public.
